Gymnema Sylvestre, also known as Gurmar, is a climbing plant that's native to Indian subcontinent. The leaves of Gymnema Sylvestre have been used in India for over 2000 years. It is an herb native to the tropical forests of southern and central India and Sri Lanka. It is also called as ‘Gudmar’ or meshashringi in Sanskrit, which means “ram's horn”. The plant can be described as a large, pubescent, woody climber.
