Asafoetida is the dried gum oleorasin exuded from the rhizome or tap root of several species of Ferula, a perennial herb, native to the deserts of Iran and mountains of Afghanistan. It is a strong, pungent spice used in Ayurveda in many preparations.
Carom, Ajwain, ajowan, Trachyspermum ammi, also known as Ajowan caraway, is an annual herb in the family Apiaceae.It originated in India.
